Bio
Tzivya was born at Ista Weyr, the daughter of two Journeyman-ranked healers. Her father, Enin, is a native of the weyr and the older brother of Balinne, though they don't really have any contact. Her mother, Kelory, met her father when she was posted to the Weyr, and they eventually fell in love and decided to marry. A handful of turns later, Tzivya was born. She is the oldest of 5 children and attempts to keep up good relations with her siblings, though they have drifted off to their own lives and are not as close as they were as children.

As a child and young girl, Tzivya spent a lot of time with her younger siblings in the Weyr's creche. As she grew older, her time was spent helping out with them as best she could, and for a long time it seemed that the cheerful girl was going to take up a more permanent role there. However, as she approached her early teens her interest in dealing with children directly waned and she found herself desiring to spend more time with her own parents.

At first, her attempts to spend more time with them took on indirect methods such as catching them for meals, or finding them on their rest days. But she soon came to realize that with their work and dedication, it was a losing proposition to hope to encounter them with any regularity outside the infirmary. So, she did the only thing she could think of and started working IN the infirmary with them.

It wasn't hard to get taken on as a junior aide, as there are not altogether many people who can handle the sights, sounds and smells of an active infirmary. Her parents were skeptical at first, but as she settled in and showed a real aptitude for the work, they relaxed. They went so far as to offer to sponsor her to Healer Hall as an apprentice, but Tzivya was unwilling to distance herself that much from her friends and family and so declined the offer.

As she aged and grew more confident in her work, she found an aspect of it that would really resonate with her, bringing together the love of children she had earlier with her newfound enjoyment of working with the healers: midwifery. While she never really could be considered to have matured into a calm or collected adult, her ability to work with the expectant mothers and her determination to help has seen her more and more involved with the Weyr's births. She is currently considering formally asking the Weyr's midwives to take her on as a student, but hasn't yet made the commitment to focus exclusively on that one field of study.

Personality-wise, there is an ineffable cheer to Tzivya. In virtually all situations, she is found to have a smile on her face and a laugh in her voice. While she isn't the fastest thinker in the Weyr, she is by no means unintelligent - it's just that her mouth is usually a few seconds ahead of her mind and so she often has said things before really thinking about them. She is friendly and outgoing to a fault, often missing the basic social cues that would tell her she should be leaving someone alone or not pressing an issue. Luckily for her, people often seem to miss that she has done so anyway, and so she finds herself able to talk with just about anyone.

However, there are things that will shake even Tzivya's unflagging cheerfulness. She is especially sensitive to death, a definite failing of someone who works in the infirmary. When faced with it, her world tends to become as dark as it is light most of the time, and she can find herself deeply depressed for days afterwards. The more she cared about the person, the harder it is.

Recently, she has been making more of an effort to meet new people and get to know more of the residents of her home. She has made some very good friends, and has come to look forward to their company and rely on their presence when things look down.
